Bethesda vs Interplay on Fallout Online

Eh. You missed the topic... again. Traveling on worldmap and open pvp / turn based combat are not the same.

yes they are because the target audience response for both will be:

And don't tell me you want ___________. That's bullshit.

and rightly deserved, for example FOnline TB is brahmin shit, there is no tactics or anything to it, it just the same 4 guys standing in the middle waiting for the poor noobs to spawn in the middle

as for pvp, you gotta love the random encounter, you lvl 2 noob proud you finally get a weapon and manged to kill 2 scorpions drop dead with a shoot to the eye from some lvl 21 guy who dropped in on you...
or the same russian suicide bomber or the guy with plasma grande who stands behind the tent in ncr, throw and run and let his friends to pick up the loot.

but even if done right, i mean real turn-based tactics, spawn points, hard cover, elevation, companion control, "fast plan orders" and AI that at least dont suck.
still it will fail time and time again in MMORPG open world with big groups and big maps, at best its will be good for MP with small squad/map sizes and obviously SP, which reminds me when was the last TB title since the 90-05 rush?
if you wish i can show you some very innovative and original setting and you can see yourself its wont work for TB...

as for open PVP, here its because of the golden rule of MMORPG ppl play for achievements/progression/loot so at lest you must have no go zone and other limitation as zones for specific levels etc...

Ok you really are starting to get annoying. you need to have you own opinion not other peoples don't refer to any other mmorpg unless you are in the beta because you aren't contributing anything that has to do with fallout online, bethesda V interplay. you are just constantly referring to what an mmorpg has to have this and that let's get serious. I t doesn't for many reasons in-fact you are hell bent that this is actually going to become successful and that it needs to follow the mmorpg list of rules it doesn't you need to get it through your head that it doesn't have to follow anything in-order to become successful interplay needs to find a balance between your mmorpg list and what the players like an example of that failing is SWG because SWG was a really good mmo until they wanted to sell out for money they did 3 months later they had the same problem and they failed miserably. You don't know in all honesty whether or not this is going to be successful or if this is going to be like any other mmorpg. in-fact unless told by interplay themselves we all are guessing but your preaching like you know for a fact it will have these things you need to stop saying that it will need to have this and that to become successful well you don't fallout is the first rpg game more or less to not be in a fantasy realm then how did it sell so well since it didn't follow obvious fantasy rules? because its a different.
Now if you tl;dr the above well let me sum it up for you, stop saying fallout has to obey mmorpg rules because you don't know whether or not it will or won't the argument can go both ways i know , but at least most of the people here are contributing unique ideas not ones already used.

you are right they dont have to do anything.

although we already have confirmation that its wont be an open PVP and that children wont be killable(i assume that the target 15+ not Mature rank will follow aswell)

so shall we wait for the none TB tid bit?

It's pretty obvious, that there will be no tb. This doesn't even needs to be discussed.

thank you! that what i have been saying from the start.

but some people see's beth as devil and the interplay as their savior that will make all their dreams come true, unwilling to except the basic changes that will be made due to the transition from SP to MMORPG genre and the likelihood of interplay going for the same main stream audience.

my mistake was to try to explain why this is more than just a belief of mine, so we can try to work together and pitch to inter some possible ideas and implementation, instead of alienating them from the community by whining about the things that are almost definitely was already decided month's ago.

which as useful as every game thread with more than half the people reusing the same material about FPS and dumbing down, that was used three years ago.
