Alright, the promised emergency update is out. I really hope there are no other game breaking bugs that need to be quickly fixed.

April 3rd 2010
Update 2c (2.0.2c)
-Already includes all previous updates
-Entering Navarro would instantly send you to the vertibird part of the map. There was some debug code left in by mistake. This has been fixed.
-You could not talk with Farrel if you blew up the shitter (due to the rug issue that plagued him on the other level of the map). This has been fixed. Note: You must enter the Modoc Inn map for the first time for the fix to work.
-Some minor desert random encounter map changes. No need to worry about this.

I have also updated the full installs to include the newest changes. No other bugs reported were fixed because I wanted to get this out asap to address the navarro issue. Keep playing and reporting issues. Posting on the wiki helps make things organized for me.

Alright, I really am taking a break from all this. I have instructed a particular member only to contact me if there are game breaking issues. Game breaking means you are unable to finish the game, not just a quest. I'll see you all in a week!

Okay Killap, thanks for all the updates & feedback !
Bye

To anyone reading this could someone please tell me if the AP ammo is working correctly now ?

Many thanks !

Riel88, wait a short time, I will prepare mini+patch fixing AP ammo in RP v2.0

EDIT:

upsss, I just checked pro files for Items, and I see there are small changes to AP ammo. Personally I do not like those changes because in vanilla Fallout AP ammo's mean always (dmg_mult / dmg_div < 0) and (dr_mod < 0)

but I hope that this is quick temporary tweak to AP ammo's in RP.

wow, nice work man, i was looking for 1.3 not too long ago wondering where it was, you are god among men

anyways, on a side note, anyone know if this includes the lootable armor mod?

MODOC - davin's room have girlies poster. shouldn't it be some gay poster? foreboding clue for new fallout2 players..

I don’t think there is any indications that Davin is gay when you first meet him (if anything its implied his been messing with the animals), its only through the soft touch of your hands and the gentle kisses on his neck is he encouraged to experiment, maybe you converted him from his attraction to women (and secretly his sister)…

wow pixote.. you are an expert in "being gay" too?...
haha nice make over on the graphics everywhere. It make me wonder why you are so keen with the rugs? pots? (potty humour?) and girlie posters.. I love it, but sometimes it may be too much in certain areas. I wonder if others will comment as well?

Too many pots and rugs at times? Eh, maybe.
Too many girlie posters? NEVER!

I have no problems in editing some stuff from the maps…but show me some images of the problems and make a good case. The maps have had many revisions during the process of building them, and I might have over done some areas, but sometimes you need to put yourself in the shoes of the game characters and situations. People store stuff, sometimes in boxes, sometimes in lockers, and sometimes in pots. 99% of people in real life, that live a similar lifestyle, will have more or less the same basic items in their homes, TV, fridge, dining table, washing machine, etc…why would it be any different in the wastelands…only the items would differ; as well the actual artwork to choose from in the original game was very limited. But I’m grateful for your input Joochian…

As for the gay thing I’m just putting myself in the shoes of a lonely game character named Davin, it’s a RPG after all…

Thanks! Great work!
I just have one question though.
When right-clicking on my equipped weapon, I now have "regular" aiming and "reload" as my two only options. Has the ability to aim at a particular bodypart been removed or am I just a victim of some weird glitch or something? :)

I´ve read through the readme file and didn´t find anything about this.

Thanks again!

Is it possible you took the Fast Shot perk?

I've never played any of the games in the Fallout series, nor am I interested in this patch - I just came to say one thing.

Thanks for releasing this patch. After reading your first post I just have to say thank you for all your hard work.

I have a save here which i made at the start of the first kaga encounter on the way to VC. When i shoot the left guy in the face the game crashes. Also after loading the savegame, combat sequence and speed might turn out a bit messy resulting in protagonists seemingly shooting all the the same time. Check it out:

http://www.4shared.com/file/255953097/5237f6e9/SLOT24.html?

I have german winXP 32bit SP3, Humoungous install RP2.0.2c + all install options checked, 3GHz E8400 dual core.

Can anyone confirm this? Something similar occured in the Den when dealing with Tyler's gang in the Residential Area (but without the crashing) Does this have something to do the the saving in combat mode?

I tried it with out sfall, still doesnt work

You can't just up and remove sfall as UOP and RP need it to run. Even if you could make game to run without it, a lot of things would be broken (one major part being the new world map locations that are only possible using sfall). So only way you can get it to run is to make Wine run it with latest DirectX 9c drivers.

Reason why original FO1/2 work is that they are based on DirectX 7/8 or older.

All the Fallout art is found here

can i suggest the following: you have 5 types (i think) of girlie posters.. i think almost every area have the same 5 types of girlie poster.. maybe u can mix it up use type1 in one wall, or type1+type3 in another area, or 3types in an area.. i mean some areas in gecko look the same in new-reno, or SF, or Den or Klamath. Maybe each town has their own theme somehow.

i was thinking the whole wasteland people used the same interior decorator (namely Pixote) who like and arrange the same style of pots, girlie poster, hahaha.. i do love the makeover immensely, eventhough the everyone in wasteland like their red rug/carpet... is there anyone else who feel the same?

finally,on my wishlist,
1. a customised armour for the pc, nicer to differ from others, good to look different from Enclave bastards when wearing APA or PA. (but then again, need different armor for infiltrating Enclave or fighting them fully with a BOS or Ranger or V13 insignia) &

2. a customised armour for all npc, like sulik & cassidy... my vic & myron was looking the same in their PA. they should be helmetless like sulik & cassiddy all the time..

So does anyone know which settings I should alter to correct the map speed so that I get at least some encounters?

Thanks in advance

Q: I don't like the speed I am moving on the world map. It's too fast/too slow. How can I change this?

A: Map movement speed was a troubling issue before but has now been effectively addressed. The issue before was a result of the speed of your CPU and thus the faster clock speed you have, the faster you would move across the map. This has been addressed though and the setting used in this mod should be much like the speed that was originally intended with computers of the late 1990s. If you feel things are still too slow or too fast now, this can easily be changed. Go to your Fallout 2 directory and look for a file called ddraw.ini. Search for something called "WorldMapDelay2=" If you did not alter this already, it should say "WorldMapDelay2=66" Changing it to a higher value will make things go slower and changing it to a lower value will speed things up.

Thanks, I have been playing around with some settings,

-Worldmapfpspatch
-Worldmapfps
-Worldmapdelay
-WorldMapEncounterFix
-WorldMapEncounterRate

the travel speed changed but unfortunately I did not seem to get more encounters..

*perhaps someone with a "fast computer" could copy/paste his "working" ddraw ?

Kaga Encounter

Hello, killap. Saying that RP 2.0 was one ot the most expected Fallout2 mods out there would certainly be an understatement. However, as expected of a project that big, it has quite a number of issues.

Kaga encounter is possibly the very first encounter that is going to happen and thus the face of RP. Well, at least it was supposed to be that way. Here is the list of issues I have with Kaga. It actually became worse since RP 1.2.

Saves can be found at http://narod.ru/disk/19357759000/SAVEGAME.rar.html
because I can not figure how to attach files to this post.
Do you need 'ddraw.ini' as well? The only changes I made were setting NPCsTryToSpendExtraAP and ControlPartyMembers to 1.

1. When I first met Kaga, he wasn't anywhere to be seen, but we had a dialogue. Two outcasts were there instead of him and the last text to appear on the message display was "You encounter: a bunch of angry outcasts".

I suppose that he is either inside a cliff, or just disappeared.

See saveslot2.

2. Those two outcasts were invulnerable to my weapons. The was no message when I hit them, nor there was any damage. They also moved simultaneously and one of them sometimes was not moving at all, but I think it's something related to sfall.

If I manage to outrun them and end the combat somehow, then they become vulnerable again. See saveslot2 and saveslot5.

3. Some terrain on that map was inaccessible for no apparent reason. It is much easier for you to see it for yourself then for me to explain it. If you load saveslot3 and try running to the right and to the bottom, the Chosen One will actually run to the exit grid to the left.

4. This is probably not related to Kaga. I've managed to get the camera in a position where I could no longer scroll. It just stuck. See saveslot4.

5. On my second try I was lucky to actually find Kaga with the outcasts. They were still invulnerable, and acted as if they were not teamed up with Kaga (i.e. Kaga stood there while those two beat me to death). See saveslot5.

If I outrun them and the combat ends, Kaga does not react to my actions. I can rob him blind (by the way, why does he have 5 spears with him?) standing right in front of him. See saveslot6.

6. Sometimes he just... disappears. Sorry, I have overwritten the save where it happens in a middle of a desert, but saveslot2 looks very much like it.

7. It seems that Kaga still has an insane amount of HP's. *Sigh*.

Somebody please tell me how do I remove him from the game completely.
