So, the new RP release crashes to desktop frequently during combat.

Anyone else have this problem? I'm starting to save after every single rat engagement.
 
I have a question about Kaga.
Thanks to a decent outdorsman level, i had a chance to skip a Kaga encouter (didn't actually skip it).
What happen if I do it?
Will i get the same encounter later? Will I "jump" to the next one?

Damn, i forgot my second question.
Is the follower leveling up retroactive?
Say i recruit marcus when i'm lvl20. Will marcus be a "vanilla" or beefed up one?
 
Dunno about the first, but my guess would be that it's like the morton brothers encounters, which you can delay all you like if you can avoid them with high outdoorsman level.

The second, unless RP 2.0 has changed it, you will get a vanilla Marcus if you recruit him at level 20. That's how it was in the vanilla game, as well as in RP 1.2. I don't see that having been changed, but I haven't played enough to say that definitively.

Im using old original copy of fallout 2 + RP 2.0c and did not figured the way how to start soundtracks of the maps. :/ What do I need to do to start them? My OS - win xp.

Sounds like you're running Win7??
If so I've had this problem every now and again with certain files and if you check the permissions for the fallout folder you will probably have to edit them so that you have permission. And yes, just in case you're thinking "But I'm the administrator" , so am I, and every once in a while some flolders need to have their permissions change to full access.
I don't know why, because microsoft has never answered my question about this.
It's a minor pain in the you know what but it usually only takes a minute to fix.

Could you provide more information about your system (OS, 32/64-bit) and installation (where you installed the game and what installation size).

You could try updating DirectX (Web installer / full installer). And no just having DirectX 9c/10/11 does not mean your libraries are up to date.
 
How many Kaga encounters are there meant to be? I've only encountered him once at level ten and he had two goons and he was wearing leather armour. Have I missed any?/How many are there left to go?


p.s. Where is the ERSI fluid? I can't find it anywhere.
 
I play my way through the Den and Primitive Tribe. I have some questions:
1. (Sulik's sister has already been rescued.) When I finished helping Krom to negotiate with Roy, kill all of them, and get teleported back to the tribe. The game seems to become pretty unstable, the game crashed with application error during the teleportation (when screen goes black + loading) or while I'm leaving Krom's tent. I'm still trying to figure out if this has anything to do with the stuff on the ground in tribe map. Just like to know if anyone got the same crash like me.

2. The "traveling" time from the tribe to the negotiation scene takes me almost a month(!). Don't know if it's intentional, but IMHO it takes too much of time. :?

3. Alien Blaster in the crashed shuttle special encounter doesn't take SEC as ammo, now it's with "None" ammo. Is this intentional? But the proto file didn't get modified, that's just strange. :shock:
 
I am getting the "Couldn't find find/load text fonts" error message. Any ideas on fixing the issue ?

There are five Kaga encounters listed in worldmap.txt, so I guess that is your answer.

F2RP 2.0.2c, Kaga can be kill any time. so I guess you can meet at max of 5 times, if he dont die in the first 4 times,

Kaga is a wimp... me at lvl7, with suliki,cassidy,lenny, luck8.. he had 333hp and 3 followers (angry bandits). After hitting him to 200+hp, he start to run and he run into the tent. By standing at the entrace he cant run nor defend himself, all of us finished him off... looted assault riffle, hunting riffle from him.

Kinda sad bug, to see him running into the tent and wont fight even having 200+hp vs mine 52hp..

Kinda miss his F2RP1.2 version, where he can survive till the last meeting...

on the good side, no need to wait dialog, but boy, what a wimp..

He is wearing the purple robe (if my memory serves me correct, I dont seem to have the savegame anymore) but I dont see anything different (or major enough change to notice it) on the inventory item robe. (I still have the robe with me)
 
If save file is loaded during combat, characters often became "invicible" and immortal with zero damages - it is impossible to end combat normally. Could you be so kind and fix it in patch Killap ?

I don`t know that is caused by RP mod or rather basic Fallout 2 game bug.

There is simple fix: Do not save during combat! :P

from sfall.ini:

;Prevents you from saving in combat except at the start of your turn to avoid a few bugs
;Note that even with this option enabled, it is still not advisable to save in combat at all.
SaveInCombatFix=1
 
I don't know if these have already been posted, but Broken Hills has 2 (that I've found so far) annoying bugs

1. I can't finish the "Find the missing people" quest; even thought I go look at the bodies and even take the letter from the girl, the script that I have foud the bodies doesn't go off, so I can't tell Marcus or the grieving husband about the bodies.

2. I don't know if this is or isn't connected to the previous one, but whenever I go to Francis to tell about the letter, the game crashes when the fade-out representing him leaving the town.

This kind of crashes also occur from time to time with no obvious reason (The screen goes black and I have to Ctrl+Alt+Del my way out of the game.)

It looks OK to me but just to be sure do it like this instead.

If that don't work look in your data\proto folders and make sure they have lots of *.pro files in them. If not you will have to reinstall and then make sure all those files are set to read-only.
 
I just arrived at EPA, looks great. There are a few problems that I have run into that I will check (and I have to check them because I forgot to save). One of the things that bother me is that on the first area of EPA it seems that only one of my followers can move at a time (when not in combat), I have Dogmeat, K-9 and Myron. I do remember of having trouble with 2 dog followers even in the vanilla Fallout 2 but right now it seems that there is even more difficulties in their behavior.

Second thing that I noticed happened on the second area of EPA (after going down the elevator shaft), I used the pipe on the rightmost turbine and the turbine vanished as did the pipe. Where there used to be a turbine, there is now just a solid wall... Well I have to start from the beginning of EPA because I have no savestate between the time of me arriving in EPA and the turbine vanishing. (I did save the game after the turbine vanished if there is need for it)
