killap, if it is problematic to solve bug with quest logs i may suggest workaround (ah, so much temporary workarounds became permanent solution).
Instead of creating GUI that can scroll between quests (if there too much for one page), you can reduce amount of quests displayed. So it will be possible to show all the data in one page. For example if one does sequence of quests for one of criminal families, he will be interested only in current quest, and won't care much about previous quests done for this family.

I'm having a save game issue with the patch where I get the "error saving game, unable to save" message. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game several times (I haven't had this issue with the unpatched game), as well as clearing the registry of all entries relating to Fallout 2, and I'm at a bit of a loose end. Does anyone have any ideas?

Captain Space, have you looked at Fallout2 restoration save game issue?
Check the second last post.

I don't know what the issue is, but whenever something happens in-game that makes the screen flash back, like going to the Cat's Paw brothel or telling Francis to leave Broken Hills, I get an error message.

Will that be addressed in 2.1, or is it something we just have to live with on Vista?

The issue isn't the transition but what you're actually doing. Both of those instances have bugs that crash the game. The Francis issue is fixed if you installed the latest 2.0.2e patch, but the other is not. However, both will be fixed in 2.1.

Oh, okay. I can only see the 2.0.2d on your sig, so I guess I'll look for it or wait for 2.1.0. Thanks.

Thanks a lot for the link! Problem solved.

Got some new bugs to report (not search bar approved, heading to work shortly :( ):

In Game:

Toxic Caves: Smiley can get stuck on the 1st floor after saving him. He will not move and for some reason, the player can access his inventory, as if he were dead. Yet he is still alive. Quest cannot be completed if this happens.

Flamethrower: Damage is severely reduced. I attack people with leather armor and only do 12 damage. Damage is supposed to be 45-90 if i recall correctly. Bug was tested at the Bishop casino.

Pulse weaponry (unsure if glitched): Cuts through advanced power armor like butter and ignores my 90% damage resistance. The Pulse rifle is caps at 40 something damage; yet the damage applied ignores my damage resistance completely, often doing 45 damage in one attack. There is no critical when this occurs; it is a regular attack.

Letting teammate have some fun with Miss kitty's girls: NPC's will get stuck in an endless loop when they continuously pull their weapon out.

Reverse pickpocketing activated dynamite: when the explosives go boom, there is a chance that the game will crash.

Saving:

Near someone who has survive a RP'ed explosion: Probability of Save game corruption and crashing upon saving goes up to 50%.

Crashing:

Breakpoint errors : when these occur (which is whenever the game crashes), i am unable to bring up task manager; i am able to open it, but i cannot see it when i ctrl alt del back to desktop. Using "end now" prompts cause my computer to lag horribly. Only way to end the problem is to either shut down or log off.

Radar E 33 - you commited a SERIOUS mistake: you didnt provide savegames for EACH of those situations to killap, what makes his work A LOT harder to find and fix these problems. Alas, A LOT of people here in this thread did the same unfortunately.

I'm pretty sure it's because he was knocked out when the fight ended, and the game still counts him as unconscious. This is an old engine bug. To work around it, start combat and push for next turn a couple of times until he comes around again.

This has already been fixed for RP 2.1.

An old engine bug. I have found that if you start combat once before arming the explosives, the game will not crash.

I do not have this problem. My mouse stops responding sometimes though, but luckily I can still use my keyboard.

Hm, PA/APA has DR 90% only against laser. Maybe the pulse gun does different type of damage.

(Heh, here i have suggestion for new type of weapon: microwave gun, which will fry guy in PA like popcorn.)

Funny, I never had any problem when sending my companions to go play with kitty's girls.

Sent Cassidy and Marcus.

Alas, my dynamite glitch problem killed my save slot (only had one for my new profile, stupid me), so i have no data. I was at Navarro trying to slip some C4 into the guy who guards the vertibird plans when it happened. Same happened to the doctor in San fran with the doc that upgrades power armor. the crash on save glitch has happened with both NPC's, as well as the Navarro base commander.

However, i do have my Flamethrower glitch save handy... how would i go about uploading that?

P.S. i have a little sibblings who plays FO2 and he wants this mod; however, I want to be able to disable the nudie posters that are added. Which install option governs this? Thanks.

Is there a listing somewhere of what the max HP's are, for all NPC's in the RP. That is, they seem to level up, but I can't seem to get a sense of by what degrees.

Another thing, I seem to recall that in the original FO2, you could place the various education books and magazines into an active slot, and then choose who to use it on. In other words, it did not automatically use itself on the player (like it does at present), and one could conceivably choose to use it one an NPC instead, increasing their skill in that subject. It's been so long, I forget if I was only imagining this (as a wish list type thing), or was that really the case?

Question, is the MIRIA FOR REAL mod going to incorporated into the 2.1 RP, since the wiki tech page stated that it is confirmed to be compatible with 2.0?

@ Radar E 33
Zip or rar your savegame slot and then upload it, you can do it on one of the following places if you like:
rapidshare.com, megaupload.com or 4shared.com.

As for the nudie posters, you can't choose not to install them. This isn't a kids game but if he is big enough to shoot people into pieces he can probably handle a few pixels of nudity too, don't ya think? ;)

@ ralphrepo
Per's guide lists all the levels for the NPCs (except for the new ones you get from the EPA). Those are not listed anywhere, but they start at 90 HP and gain +10 every level.

That book thing you mention, isn't that in Fallout Tactics? I can't remember for sure but I think so. It has definitely never been in Fallout 1 or 2.

Miria for real will never be part of the RP as it directly contradicts the intention of the original developers. She was supposed to be a useless joke.

Quoted for truth. Fallout 2 is a vulgar game filled with gory violence and adult situations (hell, you can become a porn star). Why would tasteful nudity be an issue?

Selective attention; certain insignificant things may bother us while the glaring tend to be ignored, LOL...

Yeah, I thing you're right about the book and FO Tactics thing; I used to play that heavily and must have confused one with the other. As for Miria, it's a shame. A useless joke can only be funny for so long. IMHO, the joke got stale real fast.
