Fallout 3 pirated, videos spread

You forgot Clear Sky, the prequel to Stalker. It's certainly above average.

It's to STALKER what Fallout 3 is to Fallout 1. In certain ways.

Improved graphics, more dynamic combat (with enemies throwing grenades like they were freaking laser-guided cruise missiles on top of your head every single time even if they have no idea where exactly you are), less exploration, less emphasis on atmosphere, more interesting people to kill, less interesting people to meet and has more bugs than all the american telecoms together.

guys, breaking little tidbit, in a live feed i saw the player get to a part where he enters the BoS headquarters or w/e, and the first time he became stuck in place (there was supposed to be a triggered event, didnt happen), so he autoloaded from the last checkpoint and he went again, and his x360 froze. Reset it, started fo3 back up, same place, froze AGAIN....

and his x360 froze. Reset it, started fo3 back up, same place, froze AGAIN....

Probably the entire game is full of crap like this. I don't doubt that when these person playing the torrent version play the retail version, they'll say a thousand times "hell, I didn't noticed this last time I played!"

Eh, game-freezing bugs aren't always that hard to fix and this is just the review version, so while I would not be shocked if Fallout 3 is a buggy mess, I wouldn't conclude it from that

Good point. Maybe it is their SUPER SECRET way of making sure a reviewer doesn't blurt out any spoilers. It's for his safety though. If the protection system wasn't there and he blurted something out about the main quest, Bethesda would kill him.

Or it could just be a bug.

I saw some other freezings 'cause of trigger events not happening. Reloads helped the guy.

I'll tell you again - one of the worst things, that i hate is an awful pathfinding, when you can kill monsters while they're trying to walk through the walls. This happens in Fallout 3, yeah.

Saw some streaming earlier.

Spoilers if you care: [spoiler:aaf00e468a]The guy got a GECK from a vault after killing an army of super mutants, then the Enclave dropped a cutscene on him and captured him. He wakes up immobilized and you think to yourself "Hey, this is gonna be like the lieutenant torture bit in Fallout 1!" but before your captor can do anything, the president calls him away. Then the president wants to meet you face to face, so he releases you and says all your stuff is in a locker. Yes, the leader of the Enclave just released you in their secret lair, and gave you all your weapons and equipment, and wants to meet you.

So anywho, the guy took all his gear, stepped outside, got the equivalent of "STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM" from an Enclave guard, and ended up having to shoot and kill him. As soon as he starts shooting, the president says over the intercom that they're to let their guest come meet him, yadda yadda. So the guy walks down the hallway and through a door where there's another enclave soldier, who is completely peaceful, never mind the headless body behind the PC. PC headed through that room into the next, but these enclave soldiers apparently didn't get the memo the last one did, as they attacked him. Cue more slaughter until the PC gets to the president's room. And then the big reveal of the president is a computer. Not to mention since he's called Eden and stole your GECK (The one thing they apparently took) there's probably going to be some silly shit along the lines of GECKs being a double social experiment or mind rays or some crap.[/spoiler:aaf00e468a]

Stopped watching shortly thereafter. Kind of a shame I did. Apparently that was near the end of the game, and I guess the end has [spoiler:aaf00e468a]a giant jingoistic robot that yells things praising democracy and goes on a rampage. Bethesda are master gamesmiths.[/spoiler:aaf00e468a]

Addendum: Fallout 3's definitely gone from an immediate buy to maybe $20-30 down the road. It looks like it would be more enjoyable if the combat and the AI (Especially the combat AI) were decent. Hell, even the silly VATS camera looks like it breaks and goes into crappy angles the majority of the time.

Yes, saw the second spoiler you mentioned. Couldn't believe my eyes.

Also saw what happened afterwards. It also had its heathy dose of idiocy.

FO3 spoilars from The Codex by kr1pos
Major spoilars.
[spoiler:ca6e42b3f0]Lets see:
Your father escapes the vault, which causes an uproar so you escapes as well. While trying to track him down you learn of Project Purity, a research project your parents worked on before you were born (they wanted you to grow up in safety, so your father and you moved to the vault (your mother died when you were born)). The project was about creating a machine which would totally cleanse all the radiated water (which would be good as it's the source for life etc etc). You find your father and together you almost complete the project, but the Enclave seizes the project and kills your father when he refuses to cooperate. Then ... something happens (forgot -.-), but in the end you find the missing piece to complete the project, but the Enclave captures you and takes it. The president of the Enclave releases you, and tells you to insert a virus into the machine which would poison the cleaned water with a virus killing all non-pure humans. Together with the Brotherhood of Steel you seize the machine, and have the choice to activate it yourself (and dying in the process), letting Lyon (I think) from the BoS do it - and a choice whether you will insert the virus as well.
The end.

No matter the choice, the game ends with a voiceover summing up your life (lived so-and-so, sacrificed himself for greater good / coward for sacrificing someone else / cruel for spreading the virus etc etc).
Think that's about it. Seems like the supposed 200 endings is nothing but small variances of the ending voiceovers.[/spoiler:ca6e42b3f0]

It's incredibly funny how some people here who were so drooling over Fallout 3 are now turned off by it.

:salute: Jiggly

isn't it more like a lot of people who were planning on getting it but didn't have high hopes have now deciced either not to buy or wait to buy it later on?

anyways, I've always looked forward to it and I still do. I have it on preorder so obviously I'm gonna play it right away. my hopes and expectations are constantly going up and down though. I decided not to watch any of these leaks and try to avoid spoilers best I can. but over the last few weeks I've really prepared myself to be hugely disappointed in the game.

Well, as far as I remember Jiggly had very high hopes. He even says now that it was an immediate buy for him.

I decided not to watch any of these leaks

Hey, it's your money. Do what you wish, I guess.

yes, I do as I wish. I preordered way back when they announced preorders were available. and I did so for the collector's edition only. no matter how good or bad the game is, I really like the looks of that lunch box.

Okay I haven't been watching the videos but now you've got me confused.

so your father and you moved to the vault
So much for Vault 101 being the vault where two men enter one man leaves (or what ever). How did he even get let in, in the first place?
your mother died when you were born
Err if you were born outside the vault why do you go through a vault tech birth sequence (or what ever it is)?
The president of the Enclave releases you, and tells you to insert a virus into the machine which would poison the cleaned water with a virus killing all non-pure humans
So rehash of Fallout 2 then?
Together with the Brotherhood of Steel you seize the machine, and have the choice to activate it yourself (and dying in the process), letting Lyon (I think) from the BoS do it - and a choice whether you will insert the virus as well.
As well as more ripping off Fallout Tactics.

And again even more Fallout Tactics.

So this is basically a fps version of tactics in DC instead of Chicago with bits and pieces of Fallout 1&2 mixed in, so they can call it an rpg?[/spoiler:e9bb05578f]

Now i know all the plot. Hooray!

Parts of it are taken from FO: Tactics and some other games/films.
