Muuuuuuuslim Baaaaaan! But don't call it that!

Let us get back to the topic I would say. Gun topics about the US usually lead nowhere. You will probably convert a die hard Texan republican to Islam and the Shariah, before he gives up his guns. Anyway.

Your opinion?

Douchebags offended by the fact people don't like Trump's decision, almost like they have different opinions. One thing I appreciate about all this controversy, though, is the fact it finally is galvanizing the Left.

Rightwingers are getting right in the face of liberals only to be stunned when they snarl and get right back in their face.

It's about fucking time.

Yeah, but it would be good to get some 'Facts' on the claims, you know like the shit Obama did and how it compares to what Trump is doing now.

However, what is funny is how everyone is talking about terrorism beeing an inherent problem of ... Islam. And now that there are measures ... everyone screams NO! NO THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION!. No shit. Because if it did ... it would be unconstitutional, but I am sorry, you can't have it both ways here. You can't say every Muslim is a potential terrorist, and when you do something, it's not about religion ... what is it then? Seriously, I would like to get a clear answer.

Obama was only a crazy Leftist to Republicans. To crazy Leftists, he was a center to right leaning moderate with strong authoritarian tendencies.

Religiously motivated terrorism is a thing. Same as there was communist and drug money motivated terrorism.

Obviously, but I am not banning US immigrants from entering Germany, because of the westboro baptist church.

And don't tell me the US has never exported extremist groups. You know Scientology, is not a German organisation. But the difference is, we diferentiate and deal with people individualy, even Nazis.

Yep burning Starbucks and torching cars of immigrant business owners is really getting in the right's face hahaha.

Actually I am really tired of the very simple left to right way of looking at things. A quadrant system is a way better way of explaining things.

Authoritarian
Socialism Capitalism
Libertarianism

Way more effective I am lower right.

I'm generally of the mind Trump's ban is poorly conceived political theater meant to impress Trump's base by looking like he's doing something versus actually doing something.

I know it's the lying media ... but still. Look at that! The other nations are ready to not take shit from Trump.

How many bridges can you burn, before it becomes critical?

Trump must have saw the meme/quote of "May the bridges I burn light the way forward", also I see this ban working for ISIS in exactly the way the article says. All the ban will do is make more people disillusioned with the US making it look like everyone in the states hates them. Even if the laws needed to be looked at they could do it without banning all travel in the meantime. The U.S. just keeps making more people hate them in the middle east and can't seem to learn any lesson on it since the 70's when Russia invaded Afghanistan.

Its too bad neither party in the US could have fielded a good candidate, I don't think Bernie would have been much better then either Trump or Hillary, but Cruz would have done much better.

They're not the fucking left, they're pissy little shits who moan about civil rights and think waving the flag of the USSR is radical and cool.

Liberals and Social Democrats (in addition to the edgy "Democratic Socialists", "Socialists", "Communists" and "anarchists" are the *bulk* of the protesters. That's the left. Now, if they turn this into political and electoral clout, then it wouldn't had been for nothing, if they get the apathetic bulk of voters to vote, that's a victory for the left overall - the social liberals, the economic liberals, the social left, the economic left, so on and so on.

Mockery of the term.... they've forgotten their true purpose in helping free the worker from economic exploitation and improving the plight of working class families. Oh wait, Trump stole that one right under them, and they still don't get it.

I didn't know the goal was to appeal to the uneducated rural class and bronies on the internet.

Don't get me wrong - these modern Socialists and Democratic Socialists and Communists and Anarchists are living fossils, corpses still running on the most minute of inertia, mites on the elephant of modern capitalism. I have no respect for them overall. They're a far cry from the party of Debs. Still, if they can whip the Liberals and Social Democrats up a bit, then they're useful - a popular front. Then they can fuck off and form their own united front thereof, won't care then.

Not on the internet, but across America. Trump did so and he won.

Living fossils? That implies they're ACTUALLY communists, socialists and anarchists, etc. But they're not, they're just 'radical' liberals who care more about minority rights rather than anything that actually matters. The fact that they put so much emphasis on the minority means they'll never amount to anything that relies on the majority, or opinions of the workers.

That would be an attitude would have made sense if not for eight years of Obama and the fact Bernie, who is the most radical mainstream politician on the left, achieved so much traction. The current problem isn't the socialist, anarchist, and Social Justice Assassins--they're actually celebrating the fact they won (despite Pence's best efforts) the gay war and are working on the transexual one.

The people who have lost are moderate Democrats as they want to form coalitions with Republicans and are stuck with a base who hates them for it and a Republican party who has no interest in compromise.

In short, the radicals are the party now everywhere but the top.

Also, the irony of the whole business is the radical Right is composed of a lot of anarchists themselves. The Radical Right in the Republican party are a bunch of economic and property based anarchists who have beliefs not to dissimilar to many of the antigoverment thinkers of the early century. It's just they've decided to stick with the Republicans because of the idea they're supposedly against Big Government.

Which, again, is the problem. If the people in power aren't of the agenda, nothing gets done. The DNC is not going to change, nor will the Democrats - Schumer and Feinstein and Pelosi will die with Neoliberalism implanted into their bodies before bowing their heads to a SocDem. By the time the Berners get into power, we're talking about 2030, 2040 at the earliest.
