I like the picture, too. It does seem to have captivated some of the Fallout feel, imo, as in the ruined and outbombed buildings. I just don't understand why all need to be bright and shiny and looking like new, when the Capitol building probably have have been empty fopr about 100 years after FO1's timelime, and deteriorated over time, probably because there wasn't anyone to repair, maintain or mend it.
I think the comic-book style from the previous FO games came from the fact that the visuals and graphics were only capable of rendering?256? colours, instead of the 16 mill. or 32 mil. millions of colors most computer are able to handle or render.
If I look at say concept art for the adventure game 'dreamfall - the longest journey', I can certainly see that the concept art looks nowhere near the in-game screenshots or visuals & graphics in the game. Many times they in game visuals will either look a bit better or a tad worse than the concept art.
I agree, however, that this concept art is more fitting with the idea of Fallout, and promises a game filled with (political) conflicts, the ability to choose between warring factions etc. I haven't played Gears of War so I don't if the game will be in any way, shape or form similar to Gears of War. (but isn't Gears of War sort of a 3rd person party tactical shooter?? )
As for the missiles or bombs, they could have been using neutron bombs ??
