Hi!
I'm new here, but I'm a big fallout fan since 2001. So I played numbers of times fallout and fallout 2. Even Fallout BOS. Unfortunately my computer is too weak t play Fallout 3 but I'll buy a new one soon...
I know Fallout 2 is kinda game that you can't get fed up with, but I don't want to play the original game once more... Not yet! I've been looking for mods what canges the whle content, story, worldmap etc... but found nothing but incomplete projects "coming soon". Such as mutants rising, ressurection.. etc. And FOnline in the third test (servers down). So is there any mods for Fallout 2 or maybe for Tactics that worths to play with? But please don't show me shattered destiny... with a new town and some encounters. Something new. Not the choosen one from arroyo, who wants to save it's village, and someone made some changes to the towns. I'll be glad to play a new content in fallout interface!!!

Hello,

I'm new to the forum (but not to Fallout! ), and I must say that you guys are awesome for building the strong community and of course for modding the game the way you do.

I am again getting interested in Fallout 2 I've played through countless times (with Per's awesome guide for original and Morticia's for Restoration Pack), but am looking for something fresh.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to play a whole different game, I still want it to be Fallout, but maybe with some tweaks to make it more interesting for the 20th playthrough. I've seen some awesome stuff here on the forum (like the Long hair dude and the mod with looting/crafting armour, I forgot how it's called) but most are WIP. :(

So if you could recommend some mods that are compatible with the Restoration Project and fit the beforementioned "criteria", please tell me. And I'm sorry I didn't do the homework myself, but there are simply too many mods with 10 or more pages that are virtually impossible to read through for info.

I really appreciate your time and effort you put in the game.

Cheers,
egamad

Hello, I have a question. I am trying to install TeamX's unofficial patch 1.3.5 for Fallout I. So here are my steps:

1. Install Fallout I from CD, I believe it's 1.02d
2. Install TeamX's semi-official 1.2 patch found here. I simply extract it to my etc/fallout directory and overwrite "yes to all"
3. Install TeamX's semi-official 1.3.5 patch found here. I simply extract it to my etc/fallout directory and overwrite "yes to all"

When I launch Fallout, my version on Fallout main screen says 1.2. Also, when I tried installing high resolution patch, they window told me "TeamX 1.2 patch detected". I tried this procedure 2 times on 2 computers and same result. So what I am doing wrong? Does 1.3.5 even actually show up on the main Fallout menu? I'm running XP sp3. Thanks in advance.

@Cranky: try Last Hope mod.

@egamad: There's some very interesting mods compatible with the RP 1.2 and can be found here. Also, Nirran has made quite a few mods which are compatible with the RP and with the MM, so you could check them out too.

@zenitfan4life: no, the version number doesn't show up on the main menu.

Thank you x'il, but how come when I try to install high resolution patch it tells me that my version is TeamX's 1.2, not 1.3.5? Or does the engine officially detects only 1.2, and does not see 1.3.5 even though it's there? In that case is there a way to check whether it's installed cprrectly?

Hmm, I do not see the option to get Ian to wear different armor... I know I have the TeamX NPC patch installed correctly, because I can tell Dogmeat to wait... Anyone had this problem?

Ok, nevermind.... I was trying to get Ian to wear leather jacket, and since he already wore that I could not get the option... 8-)

Hey there,
I am sorry to ask this, but I recently got the old(?) 3-games collection (from White Label) and installed Fallout 1 (it's english v1.2).
I looked up what mods I should install to make the game run smoothly.
But I got a bit confused:

1) How can I identify if I got US or UK - without searching in game for any signs of children?
2) What do I need "Fallout Update Mod v1.2.5 english version" for? (Readme says something about it's for the Demo?!)
3) Readme for patch v1.3.4 states v1.3.3
4) Readme for NPC mod v3.4 states 3.3
5) Is there a recomended order to install the mods listed above?

Thanks for any help.

Which patch to choose?

Hey everyone

I´m new in here and from Denmark. I want to play fallout 2 again. I have the us ver. with the original patch 1.02. I just found this very nice site, and I want to upgrade to an unofficial patch. I saw some hi-res patches and some patches which fixes a lot og bugs.

What patch should I choose if I want Hi-res and bugs fixed? Or should I use more than one patch?

Thanx.. :D

Has Killap also changed the game or is it only bug fixes he´s made?

The unofficial patch is only bugfixes.

The RP 1.2 restores parts of the game that were intended by the developers.

Also if you want to use the RP 1.2 you don't need to install the unofficial patch as it's already included in it.

So it's either one or the other but not both or you'll experience problems in your game.

Okay. I think I will try the RP 1.2. Are there new stuff in that patch, like new areas or what??

I have fallout 2 installed on my computer with the original patch and the Hi-res patch. Do I have to uninstall those before installing the RP 1.2??

Yes. there are new areas like the EPA, new quests and items all according to the design docs made by the developers but never implemented in the game.

As for the official patch and High resolution there's no need to unistall them, just make sure that after installing the RP 1.2 you don't have a patch000.dat in your fallout folder. (If it's there just delete it)

Troubleshooting!!

The graphic is with weird colours after i installet the RP 1.2. But only sometimes.. It starts in the intro and colours continues to be weird in the main menu.. Has anyone tried this? If so.. What to do?

I have tried to uninstall everything and only patched the fallout2 ver.1.0 with RP 1.2..
