Download and extract it to your main Fallout 2 directory. Overwrite the files already there. You know it is updated if the rock at the start of the game says 2.0.2.

My version seems to be working correctly with sounds etc but <i can't seem to find that rock everyone keeps talking about... can someone upload a screenshot of the exact location

:D Have you also noticed this small graphical glitch? Happens when you run up to the corner of the village elder's tent.

I just want to say that those installer errors are just superficial.
I have tested Cassidy and one of the new NPCs and they remember combat dispositions and keeps their level-ups.

An easy way to check if the install worked is to see if the master.dat file got slightly bigger, which mine did anyway.

What I noticed is that ugly red rug. I like what Pixote did with maps, but this addition doesn't fit at all.

[spoiler:1921dba2bd]EDIT - Also that ship in the left top corner at Easter location looks terrible.[/spoiler:1921dba2bd]

Thanks for the great work!

I have a question: Is it still possible to get Power Armor at start by going to San Fransisco, getting the quest to steal Vertibird plans then going to Navarro ?

I tried that, got the quest from Brotherhood, went to Navarro, but instead of arriving at the old gas station, I found myself in the Vertibird area with guards, which took me to Commander after I surrender, who kills me eventually (:. But it still says you found an old gas station in the message box at lower left corner.

I do have a problem though: after restarting the game due to the resolution adjustment, the game fails to start with en error message "Failed to initialize input devices". What gives? On the "SCRN" menu I've ticked the 1280:1024 resolution, same as on the "SFALL" menu, along with a GPU-something. During the following restart everything went fine, but then I've decided to change the 8bit/16bit thingie - and now I get the error. Reinstallation of the game/RP/reboot didn't help either.
Any suggestions?

thanks

mine gives the 2.02 b version too... gotta admit at first I was a lil taken back by the graphics and walking animations that should have more frames to be smoother, but after retrieving smoke and guarding that guys 'moo-moos' I'm starting to really get into the game, seems to strike a chord with you emotionally ...still the combat in tactics is way better

Hey killap. Thank you so much for your hard work!
But I was wondering if there's a reason for not adding the cut Vault Boy images for your karma level?

Surely that's a glitch? My memory's hazy, but didn't 1.2 have them in?
Can you point me to an example of what you are talking about? There is a chance I just missed this and thus never got around to including them.

I think he's saying that these icons aren't in-game for each individual karma level. I've not played far enough into 2.0 personally to confirm/deny this however.[/url]

The worldmap is really slow on my computer. Is there anything that I can do to speed it up a bit. Otherwise the game runs smoothly in 800x600 resolution (without the DirectX shader).

I just want to say i LOVE what .Pixote. has done to the maps. Pots, rugs (despite their problems) dead grass ... EXCELLENT!!

And i'm only up to Klamath.
Fantastic work Pixote - IMO it really makes a difference.

And of course - so many thanks to our heroic leader Killap. Past all the (endless) bug reports I think the consensus is that the new RP is fantastic. :salute:

I have the same problem (on a core i7). I changed WorldMapDelay2=20 in the ddraw file , that made the worldmap more 'fluent' but I hardly get random encounters anymore :(

In the [Misc] section of ddraw.ini, make sure WorldMapFPSPatch, WorldMapFPS and WorldMapDelay are all set to 0.

That makes the map very fast, but I get almost 0 encounters. I walked from Arroyo to SF without any encounters..

I myself have a single core 2ghz processor.

Thank you both for your help.

There was a crash involving missing a shot and then suddenly getting a black screen crash. Was there anything like that fixed?

This, also I can't seem to get this working with a manual install and the multiple mod guide on the fallout mods wiki. Since this is meant for a fresh install of Fallout 2, may I presume there's no way around this?

Quoting myself here so that those in the know don't skip me over. :D

@kidd
I've the same problem.
What is more, I managed to join Vic to my team when there was no free room for him. He said the he couldn't join me but joined anyway :o
