Gamespot Gameplay Video is Up

Water Chip? Been There, Done That
As expected, Gamespot has put up another Fallout 3 Gameplay video. It's still the same area and nearly the same actions made by Todd Howard and nearly the same comments. But there's a bit more, than was shown previously. You are able to see another loading screen, Todd also shows how the world map looks like and works.

Watch how when he grabs a cup from the shelf; the rest of the items which are suspended mid-air become jarred and fall an inch or so off of their invisible perch and bounce around.

More evidence that that they didn't refine jack fucking shit from gamebryo.

Can't wait to be grabbing an item off of a table.. and then have the rest of the items on the table lose their mid-air freezing and clip right through the table.

damn i was hoping for some different kinds of footage. oh well

just another video showing how much the enemy AI has advanced ...

Todd was really getting PO'ed there. That woman kept asking him questions while he was rambling on - interrupting his mojo.

With each piece of new information I see or hear it's like hearing my buddy slept with my bitch, wait...more like the town retard fucking my dog. the shit ain't right, no matter how you look at it. shooter or rpg. spin off or shat out. so confused

what does PO'ed mean?

to OP: still, no quests, no dialogues or anything faintly resembling rpg mechanisms. well, except your active quest is indicated by a dotted line in the world map.

Is slang baby, people say "PO'ed" cause it's got a ring.

Don't ask me why, or they'll come for you.

Because the grammatical rules change a bit, when you put it into an acronym. It doesn't sound right to say "I am P.O"

Like when people say "It is an RPG" instead of "It is a role playing game"

Although sometimes people say "it is a RPG" but if you actually say that out loud...it sounds odd.

Okay so some new stuff in this video:

Fallout booths are coin run.
A single Vats bullet can, in fact, remove all limbs and head.
Hacking interface.
Best look at Enclave PA
World Map
Stimpacks can be injected into specific limbs, possibly healing crippled limbs?

I like the booth being coin run, a believable object in the pre war Fallout world. I'm assuming that most of them didn't work after the bomb, which is a nice charm.

I think up until this point we haven’t seen all the limbs of some one fall off from a Vats shot, but now we have it! Hell, even the host was is disbelief. (though that's quite refreshing in contrast to the G4 footage...)

The hacking interface looks interesting, but if all it consists of is looking for words, that'll get old real quick.

They don't assume people have played Fallout. We've heard it 100 times, but damnit, I love hearing about a game not made for it's fans.

I think I like the Enclave armor, definitely FOT however. Though looks a tad top heavy.

Again, the host comments on how the player's body is STILL THERE after an atomic explosion. I don't give a shit how 'beefed up' Todd said he was! Did he have his corpse health set too high? Must it take 2 shots to completely vaporize a body? I smell bullshit.

The worldmap is kinda nice, though I will be missing the dotted line travel. And once again, we saw a lovely pointer to where our quest is.

I think stimpacks healing crippled limbs is dumb. Hopefully it's a temp fix until you can get a doctor to help.

Pretty much the same stuff, except... shockingly enough... some actual answers.

-No vehicles
-Flaming Sword is in
-Rest and Stimpacks heal crippled limbs
-Food and water are "optional" healing items .... with lots of radiation.

I also didn't realize they could equal the Fatman in stupidity, but the Railspike Engine sounds like *it.*

Where would they get the 'ammo' for it? The spikes would either be corroded to uselessness, or melted down for other stuff, or used to... I dunno... hold together town walls or fences together. Anyway, it makes no sense, and looks like a cheap excuse to make a Nail Gun ripoff.

Also, did anyone else laugh when Todd said, at 18:01, that cars in Fallout 1/2 are nuclear powered?

Waaaaaay wrong; they had fusion fuel cells. FUSION. Nuclear power is fission-based. Yeesh.

Another thing: does it seem a bit... well...dumb's the best word, I suppose... that the Inventory is weight-based, and yet ammo weighs nothing? It was always a decision to figure out what gun (or two) you were going to carry around based on the ammo weight in the originals. Guess that little issue got resolved.

And, to me the world map looks like the town maps. If the town maps had fast travel *whap*

Even dumber is that you can still shoot with a Fatman (which probably is the most heavy weapon in the game) while your arm is crippled. So character can't carry too much unless he has strong back perk or enough strength but he can use rifles, rocket/missle launchers even though his one arm is injured. It's still stupid even though aiming is more difficult.

Can someone please make a screenshot from the worldmap? I can not watch the video at the moment.

Here are a few.

You can zoom it in or out, the dotted line shows the way to your quest destination (apparently it will alter its course to show a path to your destination), and has various icons and etc. representing areas.
Doesn't show much in the way of terrain though. (The greenish areas are the city areas).

its on your pipboy, the usual greenish thing, and is scrollable

so not much to see except for some green lines

Nothing really new there. All stupid decisions IMO.

I mean really? If your sense of post-apoc realism suggests that something as simple and crude as a rail spike, which is essentially a length of metal, would not survive/be available please give me your theory on why there are working guns and working ammo in the game.

Urm... Nuclear Fusion is in fact a form of Nuclear power. Sort of one of those all students have brown hair but not all brown haired people are students logic problems.

Yes Very dumb. Honestly, making that decision in the first games was a pain in the ass, but damnit, I really hate this next gen idea that games should be free of all frustration/challenge/hardship. Having to drop ammo was a bitch, but in the end it felt like my character was actually struggling. No pain no gain as they say.

Hmm. I can understand, that it is in the pipboy... because everything is in the pipboy. But it looks a bit strange. I don't know, if I would like it ingame.

Working guns? Pre-war tech, armories in Vaults, and some very brave/stupid people outside putting stuff together and seeing if it works.

Working ammo? That's actually a taller order, since you'd need to make more powder and slugs.

But... a non-corroded rail spike after 200 years? You tell me if that makes sense.

I should've just made the direct point: exploding cars are stupid, and nuclear explosions from cars that haven't moved for almost 200 years is even more stupid.

Why do you think the rail spike would degrade and the guns wouldn't? No, they wouldn't be available to manufacture useful guns without some serious machinery (which would also be corroded I presume).

The only difference I can see is that you can still use a rail spike for projectile purposes if chunks are missing from it. Guns on the other hand... not so much.

Well, I'm no nuclear scientist but I think the fuel in those cars would actually still be viable. Of course, it's sort of odd to think that you could create a nuclear explosion with a gunshot, but hey fusion cells have yet to be invented so for all we know they will actually detonate on impact... but then you have to figure out why the giant nuclear holocaust didn't set them off... meh too much thinking... explosions... are.. cool... hyuck hyuck.
